Applying 3M™ Boron Nitride Suspension WS creates a uniform release film. Deposited metal layers can then be removed much more easily from critical system components, simplifying cleaning and reducing maintenance times.

3M™ Boron Nitride Suspension WS is a ready-to-use coating based on hexagonal boron nitride in water. It is primarily used as a release and protective coating in vapor deposition systems and as a protective coating in galvanizing plants.

The coating provides:

  • improved protection of system components
  • easier equipment cleaning
  • high coverage rate
  • excellent release properties
  • odorless application
  • no hazardous additives

This helps reduce maintenance effort and downtime.

Apply the suspension by brushing it onto the cleaned surface.
After prolonged storage, briefly shake the container before use.
Tools and application equipment can be cleaned easily with water afterwards.

The coating is temperature-resistant up to:

  • 900 °C in air
  • 1,400 °C in vacuum
  • 2,000 °C under inert gas

This makes it suitable for demanding high-temperature applications.

No firing is required. The coating only needs to dry.
Heating the components before or after application can significantly shorten the drying time.

The coating has good thermal conductivity but acts as an electrical insulator. This makes it suitable for applications where electrical insulation is required.

Due to its composition, the product is not classified as a hazardous substance. Nevertheless, standard safety and hygiene precautions for handling chemical products should be observed.
